Surefire replacement costs--yikes

I called up today asking about swtich parts availability for my old 6R. Turns out they don't stock for this kind anymore, and a new complete swtich assy would cost $36. Now that's just plain scary for a couple sections of turned aluminum, a rubber boot, and a spring.

I didn't ask, I wasn't actually ordering. The swtich they priced for me was supposedly the current replacment for my model, like would be used in warranty service.

The Z41 is the correct TailCap for the 6R (same as the 6P).
If you did want to get one I suggest you contact a CPF Supporting SureFire Dealer.

If it breaks - SureFire will fix it.

However, this does not include wear and tear of use.
Push buttons (the rubber part) and tape pressure switches as well as lamps and batteries are considered to be consumables I believe.

So take the case from a while ago where someone lost their light and it was exposed to the elements for the winter. Would SureFire fix that light if it didn't work?
