i've owned this sandwich for about 3 months now and couldn't be happier. although i don't use NiMHs, mostly alkies. i just took it to Yosemite in the backcountry and it was truly my most used light. great runtime and brightness and i wasn't even using lithiums. in summer the bears are out quite a bit so i wanted something that would light up where i heard a noise and it performed great. luckily no bears, only a few deer. i'd say realistic runtime is around 2 and a half to 3 hours before it dims noticeably. of course, with no ambient light around it may have seemed brighter to me than it really was. overall i'm very satisfied with a great light for under 80 bucks. just my impressions. hope this helps.
