Got bored and had a spare AAA dorcy case. so I made the Dinky Dorcy.
Only a few major bits were done here, First I cut out the thinner section on the base and glued the two pieces together with JBWeld. I also drilled a SMALL hole in the face on each cut edge, and put a wire between the two halves, to make a stable current path.
I removed the stock LED a while ago but it was replaced with a SMD white I had. The reflector is a cut down RS led holder with the threads cut off. I went this route for several reasons. I wanted a flood type light. The SMD led and the reflector were thinner than the 5mm led. LED current draw is only about 22mA, and I did not want the top of the LED either exposed or pressed up against the cover slide.
Its not REALLY bright, but it is not supposed to be. I havent tried yet but I need to see if an 'N' cell will fit in there.
