Re: Rothandir/McLux 5WLS/E2E-HA

how about a warrantee?

if someone decides to buy this and the head breaks or quits working somehow (i don't really care what you do to it, except for water damage (there isn't a whole lot i could to do improve water resistance), i'll refund or build a new one.
it's completely potted, and immense care has been taken to ensure optimum performance and durability, enough so that i'm willing to put $100ish on the line /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Rothandir/McLux 5WLS/E2E-HA

Stupid question, but here goes....

How does the 5W compare to the same setup with a 3W?

I have a bunch of LuxIII's in PR and PR-T heads, but not 5W's.

Is it a little brighter at the expense of run time?

Thanks,

Marc /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink2.gif

yes, it will be brighter with less runtime.

also it will have a wider beam, and not throw as far as the lux3 setup.

I'd love to have it, but I've been modding like a drunken sailer and I'm out of cash!

Re: Rothandir/McLux 5WLS/E2E-HA

Thanks for the info. I would get it in a heartbeat if $$$ allowed.....

I suspect this would also be the light that finally gets me over to JSB to gets a charger and some 168s's. (more $$$ - at least initially!)

Maybe I can sell a knive or two....

Thanks,

Marc

Re: Rothandir/McLux 5WLS/E2E-HA

I have a BB750/V2U PR head on a Scorpion and it is bright. I "estimate" it to be around 90 lumens compared to my Pila GL3 which is advertised 130 lumens. I can tell no difference in brightness on 1 168 compared to running it on 2x123. I just had to make a small tab of foil to get a connection. I've never run it for more than a few minutes because it gets quite hot. If I had the $$, I'd buy it for the body and tailcap and split the head with someone else.
