Which more bright ? UCL or Sapphire Lens

During the Li144430 project, I sent saphire warch crystals to the other participants. DougS aimed them (compared with mineral glass) at a lightmeter and found that they attenuated about 5% worse than mineral glass! I strongly suspect that UCL is a whole lot superior! (I also suspect the difference might be hard to discern with the standard issue eyeball.)

Sapphire crystal is just more scratch-resistant than mineral glass AFAIK. You can't go wrong with UCL but it needs proper care - wipe only with clean microfiber lens cleaning cloths to prevent the multi-coating from being scratched or worn off.

Actually it was 4 +/-1% but you get the idea. Use Sapphire for its scratch resistance, not for superior transmission.
