So, I gutted a lamp assembly and build it up direct drive with a Lux3. Testing it with a multimeter, I was confused that the luxeon was being driven at 800mA at most. This is a K bin luxeon, and I was led to beleive that it would be toasted in seconds with this setup. I don't believe that there is any excess resistence anywhere either. What's the deal here?

It was the Wolf-Eyes 6T explorer (GL2R). One weird thing that happened is that the led tailcap doesn't work with the luxeon module. I have no idea why. The stock incandescent module does have a circuit board, but I didn't think it actually did anything.

I can ask Pila some questions on this. I suspect that it had to do something to allow a complete circuit for the tailcap while the incandecent was off.
