Light \"Screams\" at 18 MPH
As I've posted, our local Radio Shack Dealership is closing after 20 years. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif It was operated by a real gentleman who became my friend. Our town has lost 8% of its population, recently, since NAFTA closed the two, largest, factories. Main street is in trouble.
The 50% off, closing sale, prompted me to buy "one last thing." For two years, I've been waiting for this item to go on sale - finally it did. I picked up a red, LED light, that just happened to have a wind speed and direction meter on the other end.

OK, so I fly kites and shoot off Estes rockets and always thought an anemometer might be usefull. There are no moving parts in the meter plus it indicates wind direction. Hmmm...pressure sensitive transducers, perhaps? On a whim. I hollered into the meter and got a reading of six MPH. Hollering louder produced nine MPH. As I suspected from my frequently ringing ears, my wife and daughter got, respectively, 12 and 18 MPH on the meter! No wonder my ears bleed!
