This may be a dumb question, but i really don´t see
a point why they do that.

Well, the only advantage is that all the 3 watters
seem to have a very good tint, but a good binned
high dome can´t cost as much as a LUX3.

If there was an LED light capable of photon-stripping car paint at 5 feet, we'd all have to have it.

That being said, I think the 3 watt Luxeons are seen as a good compromise between the 1 and 5 watt models, even though you could put 5 high-bin 1 watts together and make a nice light.

Heck, you could put a Luxeon in a stuffed woodchuck and we'd buy it if it was regulated, had a lanyard hole/belt clip, and had good optics.

Ummmm My L1 had a 1 watt in it, and it was a pretty poor one. I replaced it with a Lux III and got twice the light.

It may be easier to get a good batch of Lux III LEDs. The cost when buying in bulk may not be too much.

A good high binned 1 watt sells for close to the the same as a 3 watt at most online sources.

Is the L1 now using a 3Watt HD Led?

I'd like to buy one, if the low mode of the L1 would
be regulated as well (like the L2) ...

Cheers
