Heard a lot about the wall test and curious what to look for with my new light. It's very bright but the beam seems kind of egg shaped. Is this normal?

is the light pointed straight at the wall ? - the beam will look slightly egg shaped if you arent shining straight on at the wall , although (i am assuming its a pelican M10) Pelican beams are sometimes a bit funny shaped - although they throw a good beam for a smooth reflector

An egg shaped beam is ok. My Surefire M3 has an egg shaped beam too but it is all due to the filament.
