Zetex chip using PWM for dimming?

I found a post on this board, a few years old, that included an email from Zetex claiming the Enable line on the ZXSC310 could be used for dimming using PWM. The person from Zetex also said the datasheet contained this information. I cannot find this claim on the datasheet. Has anyone tried this?
I'd like to build a variable brightness flashlight using a 1W Luxeon and a PIC for PWM control. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Look at the application notes at the
www.zetex.com site. There is an application
for driving an LuxI with two nimh. There you can see
the enable pin. (DN61 to be exact ....)

Cheers

ps. Actually I am starting to develop the same thing, but with an AVR ...

Yes, I do actually have that PDF on my computer....but what about dimming using the Shutdown pin? Does that work?

In ZXSC310.pdf Issue 1 - September 2003, page 14, Pinout Diagram, Pin No.3 - STDN which is the shutdown pin. You can PWM this pin to do dimming, it works.
