Just a couple thoughts: the E2e may be prefered by those who want something between sub & compact. Many don't EDC the 123 cell lights due to size, so I will suggest the Arc AAA, and I'm sure you did consider it but my guess is that it isn't bright enough.

Yep, considered both the AAA and AA Arcs, but to me they are too blue and not bright enough to get into the "A" list.

Actually, I'd call them "mouse lights" (as in "sub-sub compact"). I like the Photon II and III, but its so tiny its hard for me to get a good grip on it.

Update, I added two new categories to my original post, based on suggestions from posters:

1. Best "Mouse Light" (sub-sub compacts)
2. Most Anticipated Lights.

Let me add a catagory or two, since I don't have and can't afford many of the choices.

Best 2AA Incandescent: Pelican MityLite 2AA Plus.

I don't have a plus, but with Lith AAs my twist bezel MityLite has a nice bright beam of exceptional quality.

Best 4AA Incandescent: UK 4AA AS2.

Mine has a beam that is somewhat oval shape, made up of lots of artifacts that join up to make a nice spot with decent spill. I need to try Satin tape, just hadn't thought of it before now.

EDIT> Satin Tape comes through again! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/clap.gif

Honorable mention to: PT Tec 40. Very nice beam, but bigger than the UK. No switch, twist bezel. DOES use common PR bulbs!

Bang for the buck: Add the Dorcy LED lights. Not extremely tough like arc aaa or infinity, but nice and bright for the size. And the SL Twin Task series. LED light and xenon light in one. Also SL 3C XP for a larger, better throwing Xenon/LED combo with superior switching arrangement!
