Well this is the first production Luxeon LED Bike light I have seen from a main stream Bike light manufacturer. I must admit that I am dissapointed that they didn't us a 5 Watt Luxeon. The 3W doesn't quite do it.

It could be argued that a 3 Watt Luxeon is not equivalent to a 10 Watt halogen. but certainly a 5 Watt Luxeon would surpass the 10W halogen - see my post on the "Nanoburner".

I am sure that the cost of a 5W Luxeon had always prevented the big companies from incoporating it into applications like bike lights. It is a shame however - because the 5W luxeon is perfectly suited to Bike lights - Small, light weight, low power, high equivalent output, good color temperature for obstable definition.

Oh well, the public will have to wait for a 5 Watter

Might as well go with HID, hate to say it, but I think it beats LED in my book, at least right now.

cool .....! This should be just about enough light for a bike - I had a similar idea:

35 Watt HELLA DE Xenon (the little bag contains the ballast)
