New 2x123 3W light. at Sportsman\'s Warehouse
I spotted a new 2x123 driven LuxIII light at Sportsman's Warehouse in Lewisville TX. It's their house brand. It looks vaguely like a Nuwai light, but doesn't resemble any lights on the Nuwai webpage.
It's average size for a 2x123 light - probably similar to a Streamlight TL-2 LED. The only color option was a forest green - probably Type 2 anodizing given the price. Retail was $50 - not bad depending on performance. The blister pack includes Panasonic 123 cells, a belt pouch, and perhaps a lanyard (might be part of the pouch).
I can't even begin to speculate on how the emitter is driven. For the pice it might be resistored, or maybe even have a buck converter of some sort.
The reflector is smooth and deep - around 1" (~25mm)in diameter. The emitter looks to be either a high-dome or low-dome. The switch is a pushbutton at the tailcap - probably a clickie.
Regrettably, I can't find any images that resemble it.
