I saw one today at Walmart in Miami... they only had one. I guess people must've been picking them for their "usefulness" with all the hurricanes we've had down here, even though the damage in this area has been minimal.

I don't think its that bad of a gimick. I have long thought about a Single D-cell light with adapters to allow C, AA, and, AAA. running a one watt lux as a long term power failure light and to use up loose batteries.

I'm guessing its an incan bulb? If its just a normal PR bulb, I guess putting in an Eveled or Epeion or such would extend its usefulness by leaps and bounds, as Jon mentioned...

Energizer wouldn't want to do that since it would take ages to deplete the batteries on any LEDs. They manufacture batteries if you get what I mean??
