I'm still waiting for my light meter so I'll see if soneone else has done this test.

I'm curious to know how efficient the current LS is.

Does driving the LS to 2W also generate twice the light than at 1W?

Has anyone plotted the LS mounted to a good heatsink and plotted up to 1A or so?

All I can say is that driving the living bejeebies out of an LS does generate a noticible amount of light. Especially the 2D3C mod.

Also related is the question of heat.

Driving the LS at constant current of .35A does the light go up, down or constant as the LS heats up?

I never did a test with a light meter, but with some calculations based on the luxeon data sheets I came to the conclusion that efficiency decreased as the LED was overdriven.
The same datasheets indicate that, as temperature rises, the light output decreases.
