Is it just me or does Princeton Tec lights stink?

Hello B2p,
My Tec 40's started off with a bit of a smell, but after a few weeks of use, the smell went away.
My suggestion is to go camping for a couple of weeks and give the lights a good workout. The stink should be gone by that time.

Some plastic tool handles will stink up a closed tool box, too; it smells like puke.

That is the smell of butyric acid from cellulose acetate butyrate being used as a plasticizer.
