Hi,

just got another AA - but it isn't working as expected...
The light was on, I turned it off and now it won't come
on again...
I measured 104mA when the battery is connected to the head,
the battery is over 1.5V... What can I do?
Is this one of those PCB-problematic AAs?

Thanks,

If it has the bad chip, it will eventually come on after several minutes. The chip would cause it to not come on again after less than a minute. It also would cause it not to come on with weak batteries or in cold temperatures.

For your light, I would recommend checking the positive and especially the negative contact surfaces for corrosion.

I hope this helps.

The contacts seem to be ok. The LED even doesn't turn on if I
connect the postitive battery contact directly to the solder
blob on the head and the negative one with the threads...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have the same problem with my AA. Using a lithium AA solved the problem, albeit at a price.
