36 AA's for $5.00 at Big-5

36 AA\'s for $5.00 at Big-5

Not sure where to put this really. Anyhow, Western Washington State Big-5 sporting goods stores they are selling 36 pack of Dorcy Heavy Duty AA's for $5.00.

Not sure if they are alkalines or not. If they are, not a bad deal...if they aren't, not a very good deal.

"Heavy Duty" AA's are zinc chloride, with about half the capacity of alkalines at low current, and less shelf life. They're still useful for many applications like radios, but are not so great for flashlights.

most likely they are heavy duty/super heavy duty etc. I am not sure what the difference is between the two, perhaps they charge more to type SUPER on them? The best deal I have found is generic kodak alkaline AA for 6/$1.00 here. wish I could find 9v alkaline for $1.00 everyone wants $1.50 and up for them.
