There is this electronic store that sells 10mm LEDs that claim to produce/emmit 25000mcd at 2,xx V? I guess mcd is millicandela, but how much is that? I was thinking about putting that thing in a Minimag head or maybe in a broken SF LA.
Is this output realistic? How bright are 25000mcd?

These LEDs are most likely Toshibas. They come in amber, Orange, red-orange and red.
They produce 20000-25000 mcd in a VERY TIGHT SPOT!!!
How wider the beam of light, how lower the mcd value will be. These LEDs aren't extremely bright, I wouldn't do it. Except if you want a very tight, but bright spot.
You can look for a review at ledmuseum.home.att.net , take Orange LEDs and it's the second review.

The 25.000mcd is the orange one, that is correct. Thanks for that info.
