If your staying the Surefire course, L2 or L4 maybe.

If anything goes, then an Inova X5 for using up dead batteries. An X1 makes a great and cheap little toy. Do you like to get wet? Get a UK or Pelican underwater light.

Those were my first two Surefires by the way...

cornkid,

I agree with redcar - an L2 2-stage, or the single-stage L4. Fantastic floodlights. The L4 is far more compact but the L2 give you a lot more diversity and runtime.

Hope this helps.

You already have a two stage light with the L1

Cornkid, you have a pretty good combination between your two lights because they can probably cover just about any situation. Maybe you could be an example to all of us and try the "c" word! (contentment) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

True.

But I'm thinking with the L2 he has access to 7 hours of constant regulation with 15 lumens (very very good runtime with good output--comparable to a 2D flashlight). On high, he has access to 100 lumens for 30 minutes--comparable to a 5D flashlight. All in the size of a 2AA Minimag flashlight.

The L4 is nice and will give 65 lumens for 65 minutes regulated, and its smaller than the L2, but the stock version doesn't give the user an option to conserve battery power or an option for closer up work.

Is the L2's high mode really 100 lumens? Doesn't seem as bright as my KL5 though.

Unless you wanna go broke buying 123 cells, get the L4 and a pila setup.

The Inova X5t is good for sucking those old 123a batteries dry. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I believe it to be 100 lumens. My 6Ps at 65 lumens lights up far less area than my L2s. Of course, part of that is due to the L2 being a flood beam and the 6P being more spot. But still, the L2 seems brighter to me. Only way to tell for sure is to have a lumen apperatus sphere (very expensive and few have access to it).
