I was listening to net music a while ago and it started to cut out and then my desk top had new icons on it. I did a few things but I still have one that is on my desk to. File name o 16384 bytes of information.
Anyone have a clue /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/banghead.gif?

W,
When I use an Army system, we don't play games like down loading music. You learn not to trust software.

My guess is you collected some 'spy ware' or a computer desease.

If your running Norton or Ad Aware that might eliminate it. If not ask someone who knows more than I do. (most anybody at this point)

Im not much of a computer user. More of a high voltage analog geek.

Thanks for chiming in Crow.
I have a feeling you are right about the spyware. I am also not much of a computer person and the few online scans I have done really made me wonder just how many of the spys are really in this computer or if it was just sales tactics.
I figure this computer riddled with bugs.

All the best to you,
Wylie

Hi Wylie,

You can try downloading Ad-aware from here. It's a free program that helps scans and detect spyware in your computer and allows you to delete them. I've been using it for a while, hope it helps /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I did the Immunization and 1916 bad products were found. I guess I was riddled with bugs.
Thanks again, maybe another nine lives for this computer yet.

Keep it bright,
Wylie

Be sure you update the database on the scanners before you scan too. It's just like anti-virus scanners, the database needed to be updated pretty often in order for them to be effective.

That 1,916 doesn't mean you were infected, Wylie. That is the number of malware and spyware that Spybot can prevent from installing or d/ling in IE. That means that those 1,916 malware/spyware have been blocked from installing or d/ling through IE. It doesn't mean they were on your system.
