Gentlemen, I have found, as have many of you, a very interesting family of flashlights. The OMBU 55 is a 5 watt, 2x123 Lithium, 5 inch by 1.1 inch, $120, VERY wide beam (too wide beam) flashlight. The OMBU 33 is a 3 watt, 2 x 123 Lithium, 5 inch by 1.1 inch, $84 Flashlight not so wide beam, that has two light levels (18 and 45 lumens). The Nuwai Q3 is a single 123 Lithium version of the OMBU 33. The Nitestar 3 Watt looks like it may be an OMBU 33 in a different body aand with only the 45 lumen light level. The OMBU 33 looks like a great EDC light. Who has one? Who knows anything more about these lights? Glowbug sells them

We've already seen reviews on www.ledmuseum.org, if you want to head that way. If you'll read back a page or two either here or on the Review thread, you'll see that there's been a lot of discussion over the merits of the Nuwai Quantum-III for at least four months. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Heck, Mark2 and ViKi on the B/S/T Lights forum have been selling them since early summer. The main complaint I've heard with the Nitestars is that the color tint may not be as good, and we've seen varying runtimes with the Q-III depending on the emitter. The OMBU 33 seems to be a repackaged Quantum III, produced by Quantum Lighting Products, a manufacturer based in Hong Kong. Nuwai and OMBU both seem to be distributors, at least to judge by how none of them seem to have any manufacturing centers we're aware of.
