I am looking into what Surefire to get this Christmas...I already have the following (M3, Z2, E2e, E1e, L4, KL1 and G2). What would you get next and why? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

L2

Two brightness levels, with low having exceptional runtime while nearly flat regulation (6-7 hours regulated on low). The 15 lumen output is plenty for 95% of around the house uses. Then, when you need more raw power you bump her up to high and get 100 lumens....for 30 minutes with partial regulation.

Beam quality is top notch on my L2s. Tint is above average on two of my L2s, and exceptional on the third.

Looks like you've got pretty much all purposes covered.
How about the M6 just for kicks? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

M6

Because you'll get one eventually, might as well get it sooner rather than later.

So true, so true. You have lots of little SureFires. Now you need a big one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif In fact, some people can't resist and have more than one M6.

If you'd be willing to go with something other than a Surefire, you might want to look at an Aleph III setup.

Of course, the M6 isn't a bad idea either.

Have to go with the M6 as well. No Surefire collection is complete without one. L2 would be a logical 2nd choice since that's about as close as you'll get to an U2 for a while yet.

a2 because i find two brigtness levels very usefull.
i like the a2 because you have the regulated incandesence for long throw and led for close illumination.

I have to agree with all of the previous advice. Either the L2 which will give you both a KL-1 & KL-4 in one light, or the thermonuclear-powered M6.

However, another consideration is to increase the utility of Surefire's two best combinations. The E1e/E2e and the M3.

An E2C adapter from Doug Speck will allow the E1e or E2e to utilize the L5 LED head, C2 head, or M2 head, or Z32 head in both 65 lumens or 120 lumens of impressive pencilbeam throw. The Kl-1 and KL-4 heads already in your possession can also be used as well as the MN01,2,& 3 bulbs.

When you start talking about the M3, which IMHO is the most versatile light that Surefire makes, the combinations are very impressive:
M3/MN10/125L/1hr.
M3/MN11/225L/20 min.
M3T (KT-4 head) /MN15/125L/1hr./50% greater range
M3T/MN16/225L/20 min./50% greater range
M3T/A-19 single-cell extender/MN60/225L/1hr./50% greater range over the M3T
M3T/A-19 single-cell extender/MN61/350L/20 min./50% greater range over the M3T
M3 body/L6 head/90 min./100L +/- /100yds. +/- /LED
M3 boby/A-19 single-cell extender/ 100L +/- /2 1/2 hr./LED
Z-58 tailcaps (Click on/click off/Lockout for Utility)
Z-59 tailcaps (Twist on/Constant on/Lockout for Tactical)
KL-2 head /19L LED (I don't recommend it. Technology has rendered it obsolete with the KL-6 head / 100L.

There are probably other combinations that I have not yet tried, but I HAVE tried all of the above with great satisfaction.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the posts! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I wouldn't mind the M6 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif BUT the price (both purchase & running) rule it out. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif I am looking into the L2, U2, A2..M3 Turbo convertor etc

I know it's a tough question to answer! BUT when could I expect to get my hands on a U2?

I was thinking of an A2...anyone got one?

I was surfing their site and thought the A2 Aviator
looked rather neat with the two bulbs in the light.
