If the Everled was kept cool to allow maximum power it should run just over 50 hours before a cell is damaged be reverse voltage. This is asumming the Everled is drawing 1 watt of power (buck mode is very efficent) and the Cells are full charged.
As the Everled gets hot, the power draw is reduced to keep the Everled from being damaged so the run time could be much greater.

mention that Everleds can die (prematurely) in 6 cell lights
because the fresh battery puts out more than 9 volts?
6-cell Nicad or Nimh would be okay since even at 1.4
volts per cell the battery voltage would be under 9V.
I was told they couldn't guarantee that any everled would survive 9 volts. I wanted to try one in a 2c 3x123 mod, but was told it would probably burn out. Kind of expensive to try it out, but if someone wants to, please let us know....

Sorry for steering your question the wrong way.
I didn't notice that you said you were using nimh cells.
6 cells x 1.2 volts x 9ah = 64.8 watt-hours.
If the everled is consuming 1.2 watts then it should
run for 54 hours. At 1 watt it would run 64 hours.
One problem with running a regulated light from lots
of cells is that you won't notice when the first cell
goes dead. So you potentially could be running for quite
a while off 5 cells without noticing, while damaging the
6th one by reverse charging it.
