Was wondering on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being monkey easy and 10 being MENSA Candidate requirement. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif How easy is it to replace one. What tool or tools will one need? Can the they be bought at a local hardware store or online? Thanks Gurus.

I used a screwdriver handle and a sheet of that rubber stuff to help remove jar lids. A piece of bicycle inner tube would probably work fine too.

First off, find a screwdriver, whose handle (end of the handle) is the same size, or slightly smaller in diameter than the lens retainer ring. It should fit onto the ring without also hitting the lens or touching the body of the light.

Now lay the rubber sheet across the ring, insert the screwdriver handle (or anything else that fits properly) and turn counterclockwise. I did three like this and didn't have any trouble.

When I had one, I managed to get the lens retaining ring with my fingers.
I heard someone got it off with an old credit card cut to fit.
