Flashlight Enthusiast
Edit 10-26-04:
Investigation complete.
I will need to rewire the DB1k.
Edit 11-6-04:
I killed it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif
Well, just the Downboy 1000 rev.3
Instructions people, instructions should ship with any product you sell. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
Anyways, I may try again with a DB, or BB, now that I now know how it's supposed to be wired this time.
I have a 1 ohm, 2 watt resistor in the light doing ok at about 700-800 milliamps with nimh batteries.
End of 11-06-04 edit.
*I'm offering this 170+ lumen marvel for $150
$60 from this goes to cpf!* /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Shipped cont. U.S.A.
For those of you new to some of this, the Downboy1000 clamps the amount of current to the emitter to 1000 milliamps until your batteries have really wound down to about 1.2 volts a piece in this light.
Any type of 1.2-1.7 volt battery will do fine with this light.
On the left is a trilight3 running at 3 anps and it's full 240 lumen glory.
Middle is a 6 cell 3-2-D'ed 2 cell with a stock 5 watt mag 6cell bulb.
Right is the product for sale!
As you can see in the pic above the single 1 amp lux 5 is giving the 3 amp trilight3 respectable competition.
