Hi I have a need for high output led's. I have the IR version of the Optotec Shark With the 30 degree reflector but I was just wondering if there was anything else out there as an option. I wish there was an IR version of the Luxeon emiter, or maby does that Korean company that makes the 1 watt UFO leds have an IR version?

Well I guess I have one more question and that is what frequency are CCD sencors more sensitive to. I am using it with a BW CCD video board that has no IR filter on it.

Thanks Bryson

That Korean company that makes "UFO" LEDs does indeed have an IR version. I believe its peak wavelength is 870nm.
Let me see if I can find mine...BRB...ehhh doodlebugs!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I thought I saw it in a bag of Roithner Lasertechnik samples, but I guess I didn't. Let me check Roithner's website for that...BRB...ok, there we go...

5(H850)AUCA-B 30, 1 mm² power chip, IR, 850 nm, 65 mW @ 350 mA, Vf <3.0 V, 30°
5(H870)AUCA-B 30, 1 mm² power chip, IR, 870 nm, 65 mW @ 350 mA, Vf <3.0 V, 30°
5(H880)AUCA-B 30, 1 mm² power chip, IR, 880 nm, 65 mW @ 350 mA, Vf <2.5 V, 30°
5(H940)AUCA-B 30, 1 mm² power chip, IR, 940 nm, 65 mW @ 350 mA, Vf <2.5 V, 30°
