Surefire KL5 fitted on M3 body

I understand that a KL5 can accept batts up to 9Volts

But I wish to find out if this KL5 will fit onto a M3 body?
Are the screw thread of the KL5 and KL6 the same?

No, the KL5 will not fit on a M3 body. The KL6 is the one that fits on the M3, M4, and M6.

Also, I don't think it was recommended to use the KL5 on 9 volts. You will fry the regulator circuits and wind up with a direct drive head, meaning, no more constant brightness for 65 minutes, but a slowing dimming light....

According the latest info from SF web site, KL5 does support 3 x 123 cells now.

Isn't the insides of the kl5 identical to the kl4??? I don't think three cells are OK

"latest info" and "Surefire website" aren't usually found together without "don't go looking at the ... for the ..."

Personally, I would want written confirmation from a named SureFire Tech Support Rep or PK himself before using the KL5 on three SF123As.
