I just recieved a light I bought off ebay. It's present config. is 2x123 running a 1watt lux. No doubt resistored. Although I haven't taken it far enough apart to actually see how it's current is regulated. The lux is still on it's star. The whole construction of the light is begging for some mods. Beneath the star is a rather roomy cavity certainly lots of room for some sort of converter board. The removeable head has a nicely focused reflector.
What I sort of have in mind is this. LuxIII T bin, BB-Nexgen 1000, Pila 168s or 2x123. I suspect that Nexgen board will run on either of the above mentioned batteries. Also, I guessing here but this config will be more effient with the Pila 168s. I say this because the pila bat voltage (3.7v) will be closer to vf of lux and therfore the converter board will have less work to do.
How am I doing so far? Thoughts anyone?
cheers,
zwf
