L5 and Aleph 1 or 3 head comparison?

I asked this down in the McGizmo forum, but haven't received much of a response, so here goes. My L5 has a gorgeous, white, beam pattern.

I am wondering how the beam pattern from an Aleph 1 or 3 head with a Luxeon 5 (or 3) LED would compare with the L5. If anyone has both lights and can offer their opinion or post a beam shot, that would be great. Thanks.

Opinion, yes, beamshots no for the moment,. sorry.

L5 vs. Aleph1 / McR-27:
The L5 has a tighter hotspot and a tighter corona, meaning more throw for both, imagine it as a "ram of light" whereas the Aleph1 is a medium flood light with a huge corona and reasonable throw and a greater coverage of the surroundings.

L5 vs. Aleph3 / McR-38:
The beams of those are relatively close (with a donut-hole correction in the Aleph3). The performance depends mostly on the Luxeon lottery and the drive current of the Aleph3 here.
