Well, I'm wanting to get a bright little LED with decent runtime. Comparing the overall outputs of the lights compared to those of lights that I already own, they both have significantly more total output than any light I own in the same size class.
Looking at flashlightreviews.com, his version of the Q-I put out 1400 vs the Q-III that put out 1900. The III has 600 lux of throw, vs 350 of the I, but for my uses, I don't think throw is much of a concern. Both use a single 123 battery.
Really, the main things I'm interested in are runtime and general beam quality. He said he got about an hour and a half of fairly bright output, but others have reported closer to an hour. If the Q-I will consistsantly have a better runtime than the Q-III, I think I would rather have the Q-I.
Any comments? Anyone have both? Any chance one of our beloved vendors will offer a 'twofer' of Q-Is at $50 for the pair? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
