Actually with the BulkHead, twisty and BBH, not to mention the other accessories such as the 2AA nimh body, upcoming candlemode head, variety of optical collimation devices that fit in the stock head, etc., there is still not much around to beat the VIP as far as true modularity in a genuinely Multi (more than two)-level light.
And it's no slouch in the brightness (on High) and run time (on Med and Low) departments either. Plus with the included BBH it will outthrow ANY light of its size and even most lights that are far larger.
Considering the fact that no more will ever be made, this is a bargain. And if you get tired of it, stick it up on e-bay where it has fetched average figures well above the asking price brand-new...
