I kind of like my Princeton Tec Aurora headlamp for reading in bed and other odd jobs. I'm thinking of giving my two boys lights like this for Christmas.

The only complaing with the Aurora is that little flick that is noticeable in all settings.

Are there any headlamps out there similar to the Aurora without the little "flick" blink.

I'm looking for the 100 hr on medium. I think the hi-med-low switch is very useful.

Cheers,

Richard

The new Rayovac headlight has three modes. 1 white LED, 2 red LED's, or Incandecent. It sells for $14 at Walmart. While it doesn't have all of the versatility of the Aurora it IS a nice unit at half the price.

I have both of the headlights and use the Rayvac more - mostly because I usually don't need the brightness of the Aurora's 3 LED's. When I need something really bright, I use my Luxeon headlight.

Thanks, Slick,

Is it as comfortable and small as the Aurora?

As light?

How many batteries?

Run time in white LED mode? Incandescent mode?

Thanks!
