I am going to build a direct drive 5 watter, I want to use the M@glite c body. I want to get max performance out of the 5 watter, but it is a "T" bin, should I only go with the 5c cells because of the lower vF? I am not sure what the voltage drop will be? Does anyone have any experience DD a 5 watter of this bin with alk. cells?
Advise needed, 5 cell or 6 cell?

With alkaline batteries, a 6c with a 1-2 ohm 2 watt resistor.
With nimh C's, direct drive 5c light.
I have a 5d magg with a luxeon5 W flux running perfect at direct drive from 5 nimh D cells at about 700 milliamps.
It is the light that comes with me to work.
