I decided to try the new Gerber Ultra in red, since my CMG Ultras are white and blue/green. It came today and I was surprised by its high brightness - though it does not seem to impair night vision. I am wondering, has anyone compared the brightness of the Gerber Ultra (new design) in white with the original CMG Ultra in white? I am wondering whether the brightness has been stepped up a bit.
I had wondered whether the new design would be less comfortable to operate one-handed than the CMG. But in fact it is very easy to turn on and off one-handed, and the momentary-on function works well too.
