FS: "MicroMag Holidays" single AA lights Drop-in electronics not included

Edit, Jan 29, 2005: Pewter lights are all sold out.

Edit, April 4, 2005: All black Micro bodies are sold. Red, shimmer blue, chrome and copper are still available.[/b]

Edit, April 26, 2005: All MicroMags are sold!

These two runs have been fun. With the help of all the cpfers we have distributed 164 Micros all over the world. I don't see many being sold a cpf so the lights must be a keeper. We have all made the world a little brighter. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

For sale are new MicroMag lights. The lights were originally 2AA Mini Maglites that I had a machine shop cut down and rethread to hold a single AA battery or 14500, 3.7-volt, rechargeable Li-ion cell. Take a Madmax or Wizard 2 Sandwich and drop it into the light with an alkaline battery and you have a small and bright light. Drop in a 14500 cell in the light and the whole world of Mini-mods is available to you. Madmax, Badboy, Wizard 2, SMD, SMD+ MiniPro III, MiniStar and others are brighter than ever.

Do a forum search and see what these cute little powerhouses can do.

The MicroMag colors that are available are black, red, shimmer blue, chrome, copper and pewter. The lights and color choice are first come, first served. I don't know if I'll do another run of these lights.

$27.50 each or two for $49.95. Plus $2 mailing in the U.S. and $5 for overseas mailing. I take PayPal, check, money order- yeah, the usual stuff.

Post on this thread then PM me. OK?

The holidays are here and these lights are just a couple of days away from you.

You're a lot smarter than my wife. She couldn't figure out how I did that picture.

I'll give her a MicroMag and tell her it is better than a diamond. That'll throw her off track. Then maybe she won't look at the thread.

You think she'll "buy" that?

Depends on how bright it is.

With a 14500 cell and a MiniPro III, a Nexgen 750, Madmax WO or Badboy 650 the little MicroMag lights command attention whenever they are "awakened".

The funniest situation was when I was at the bank. The bank teller was playing with one of the little MicroMag lights I always carry with me. She was pointing the nose of the light in her face and turning the top. The usual newbie trick.

"Anita...DON'T..."

That is as far as I got. She got a perfect beam shot in the face at point blank with the beam. Yes, she was temporarily blinded.

"Anita...I know you can't see that I've decided to make a MASSIVE withdrawal right now and you can't see a thing." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif It took about 30 seconds to her to see.

People always do a double take. Last person I showed it to "I didn't realize the Solitaire came looking like that"... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

"Oh believe me it doesn't..."

Even if you only go halfway with NiMH, you're getting KL1-level brightness, the full 350mA spec'ed drive current of a Luxeon 1. If you go the whole hog with the 14500s I'm not surprised if you're looking at 60+ lumens..

It was loaded with a 14500 cell. Anita got a point blank shot with a load of 60+ lumens!

There's a person in the LED forum who needs you, username IMSabbel who needs your services, I think - they're looking for a pocketable LED light that's fairly bright and uses normal AA batteries for under $50 US. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Maybe you should PM them this thread - I already mentioned it to them.

"Have no fear, Superman is here!" Spiderman? HULK? The Shadow?

Thanks for the heads-up Haesslich. I'll take a look.
