I'm try to duplicate a e1e/e2e to streamlight strion bulb adapter that Chop sent me.

Here some pics of the first step, gutting a host lamp assembly.

I took the LA and held it in a vise. Be carefuly not to squish it.

Then I took a dremel with a cutoff wheel and sliced the top off the bulb. I held a rag around the bulb to catch the fly glass. After the bulb is broken I kept slicing off pieces will I got to the black plastic.

I kept on slicing, taking off more bulb, some black plastic and that potting compount they use (it was as tough as concrete).

I got down to about 1/16 to 1/8 from the base (the big round black plastic thing) and found I wasn't getting much further.

Took the LA out of the vise, and pried the bottom center terminal off. It came out very easily with no breakage, bending, or permanent damage to the rest of the LA.

Then I sat the LA on the vise's top and moved the jaws in on (very loosely) the 4 plastic prongs. 1-2 taps on the bulb's remaining stub with a screwdriver and hammer, and it popped right out from the bottom of the LA.

It should be fairly easy to put a socket back in. Now all I need is a socket.
