Look on page 2, or 3 of this forum.

Re: WTB: D cell Hotlips or O-Sink.

Are the black ones mostly for looks [and they do look VERY good by the way], or do they exhibit better heat exchange properties?

I may get two of the un-annodized ones. Thanks for the update guys. I'm waiting on a PM [on a particular question] so depending upon a positive answer, I'll mark this thread as 'found' then.

Re: WTB: D cell Hotlips or O-Sink.

I WAS only going to get one but ended up getting two. I have a 3 watt LED that is on one of the flat heatsinks. Centering isn't too bad, but this should improve that. The MAIN one I needed the O-sink for is a W2WW 5 watt that I've had for a while. It, too, was on a flat heatsink. I'm hoping the centering factor of the O-sink helps some with the 'donut' effect, but even if not, it is still better heatsinking for the LEDs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

You will definitely need to make sure that the emitters are clean and dry before sticking them to the Osinks with Arctic Alumina thermal epoxy (computer store) .

I have cleaned them pretty well, so they should do fine. I'm about out of my AA though, I hope I can squeeze enough out of the tubes.

I should be able to get enough out for both of the emitters. If not, I guess I'll be buying some more. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
