The white Z-Power LED has a luminous flux of 140 lm at 1.4 A (5 W), corresponding to 28 lm/W, while the luminous efficacy is 40 lm/W at 350 mA.

SSC plans to introduce even brighter power LEDs, with an efficacy of 50 lm/W, in the coming year.

Full Color Z-Power LED - a world first

Full Color Z-Power
SSC has succeeded in developing the Full Color Z-Power LED, which the company claims is the only multi-color packaged LED product containing three high-power (350 mA) RGB chips.

I like how they use a Luxeon Star PCB and what appears to be a Star/O PCB in the first photo.

So if they were available now at a low price, LOL; jtr could have used 50 of these in his taxis retrofit model for higher output over a longer period than t12 fluors, instead of 100 5mm's.

These will be difficult to drive, given that there are 3 emitters in a package, each with different lumens/watt figures, and the individual currents must be set to get the "white" that the user wants (although you can pick the type of white that you like best!).

That seems to imply 3 (matched to the color) current sources are required to drive these LEDs.
