Ah, to live in Mississippi. Right now it's in the high 60s and my grass is still growing. Supposed to hit 70s today and tomorrow.

We don't get "cold" here.

We get a rainy season! (and the road to our new house gets gruesome!)

21 days and counting 'til closing!!!

We scored two Craftsman Riders (25hp and 15hp), a BAD A$$ wood entertainment center, two full beds with brand new matresses and a bedroom suit for $1300!

We just need them folks to get motivated about moving!

I lived in CT most of my life. Moved to MN 10 years ago. When it dropped below 10 above in CT, AAA had reports on how bad car starting was etc. etc.
In MN school gets called for low temp like -40 with wind chill. Unless it goes below -20 nobody has problems starting cars. Below -30 I pull my battery and bring it inside. Next time it drops to -50 I'm draining my oil and bringing it in, last time I melted my starter and battery /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif .

Sounds like time for:
1. block heater
2. synthetic oil
3. battery heater
4. moving to a WARMER place

Why in the world would anyone want to live in such a cold place? I mean I'd rather be cold than hot, but when your car freezes and the frost line is like 4' deep that's it.

There are times I wish we'd get a little snow, but I do enjoy winter weather in the 45-55 degree range.

What was really funny was watching the antics around here when it got down to 0 about 10 years ago.

Apparently there are people that have their washers and dryers in outside laundry rooms. The clothes were freezing in the washer during the spin cycle.

Several car batteries froze and split.

Our cows were out walking around on our pond..... which had about 10" of ice over it. We had to break the ice with the tractor so they could drink.

4 wheeler riding was fun until they froze up due to water getting into the brake assemblies.

Sections of the state lost power for 3-4 MONTHS.

Dare I ask but are the 4 wheelers made by Honda ?
My self and a friend both have Honda quads and allways have problems getting water into the so called "sealed" drum brakes. Granated it's still a lot of fun to take it onto ice, the manuvers that can be done are sutch a blast!

[/ QUOTE ] Keeps the sissies away /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif In the summer rarely gets to 90. Of course we can get frost all 12 months and August is the only month witout recorded snowfall. Have you ever seen Lake Superior? It is more awesome than the Atlantic or Pacific, mostly because it is 'just' a lake.

You should see how nutty people get in Seattle if it snows. Bad news. Good thing it's a rare occurance.

I miss "real winter."

An elderly woman in upstate New York was called by The Weather Channel and asked how she was holding up, given the frigid temperatures. She responded, "There must be some mistake, it's only –20." The Weather Channel anchor said, "But Ma'am, the national weather service has informed us of record low temperatures in your area, bottoming out at –45!" She chuckled to herself and replied, "Ohhhhh! You must mean outside!"
