Re: Luxeon III C/D Maggmods for sale updated *w pics*.

That is a really good price for the convenience of a turnkey (TK) ready-to-go-out-of-the-box unit.

Either that or you could spend an entire weekend, $50 on tools, and $5 on band-aids building one - that's how I started. We haven't even counted the parts cost yet (add another $70) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif does a TK sound good?

4D will run freaking forever on alkalines... ask me how I know. You're talking easily 20 hours of useable power OR MORE depending on how much resistance (more resistance = longer run) used.

And they'll paint a big bright beautiful spot on stuff 300+ yards away even with a full moon, at tightest focus.

I have everything needed now.
I have a 3d built for someone already, and I'll be building more tomorrow.
Here's how much better a 3d maggmod is compared to stock and a Chinese 32 led on the right.

Each of these three are drawing about 700 milliamps, by the way. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I'll make yours 1st Baylisstic. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Non credit card paypal, or private message me on how you want to pay for it when you are ready.
Here's another pic.

Far left is a 3c lux3 maggmod.
Left center is a good Everled.
Center is a 3D lux3 maggmod.
Center right is an overdriven (nimh batteries) 32-1 led adaptor.
(It overheated and lost 1 led due to a lack of heatsinking.)
Right is a stock 3c magg.

I have heard these throw a amazing distance. Also, in case soemone is shying away because these are not rechaargable, not sure how long the batteries last, you can get AA to D adaptors so you can use rechargable AAs in these.

Like this

http://www.teamdigital.net/store/customer/product.php?productid=649

Or ones that use one AA to one D or one C size.

Re: Luxeon C/D Maggmods updated *12-20-04*

Is it just me? Or does anyone think that a 3 battery configuration is kinda... wierd... i dunno. I'm not bashing you or anything. It's just that, if i owned a 3 battery flashlight, and since batteries typically come in either 2 or 4 packs. I'd have to let one battery sit there until the next time i need to change batteries. I dont know why, but that would drive me NUTS!
Anyone else feel this way? or is it just me?

I used to have the exact same problem. Also, my old charger only charge 2 or 4 batteries at a time. I later bought a new charger that does anything from 1 - 4 batteries at a time and I got my batteries from batteryspace.com that sells you batteries at any quantity you want.

I also have 2 4d lights and 1 4c ready to be modded.
It takes me about an hour to mod one now.
I have a pair of TYOL's on the way to me just for the 4 cell lights. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
$80 gets you one of these bigger lights built and shipped.
Have a look in the top pick of my original post on this thread. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Luxeon C/D Maggmods updated *12-20-04*

whoohooooo!

Y0's have a nice color. In a 4D, trim these with a 0.56 ohm resistor for 16+ hours of useable light. It just goes on, and on, and on....
