Anyone out there own the UKE Light Cannon,or know its specs? Specifically:
1)What batteries does it take?
2)How long do they last
3)Just how "fragile" is it?
4)Can HID Technology be small enough for, let's say- a Maglite 3-D configuration?
This light sounds exciting!

Battery: 8 x Alkaline C-cell, NiMH or Nicad Cells, Accessory Nicad Pack

Well, HIDs are pretty fragile in general. Be careful where you drop it A friend lost balance and the LC was smashed to a rock. Let me tell you this: The bulb was destroyed, but the most horrific thing was observing my friend act like a mad raging monkey.
On grass, floors or other normal/soft surfaces the LC will not be damaged, unless you're very unlucky

By that, do you mean it shocked him?

I believe his friend got angry like a monkey because;

1. He lost his balance.
2. LC chose to smash itself to a rock instead of softer object.
3. Rock just let LC smash into it and didn't take evasive actions.

Well, no. If I smashed a 200$ flashlight by accident i would certainly go bananas.

Stingy Scandinavians! testing flashlights is expensive, ask Stingmon.
But you may go back to the dealer and ask for a replacement bulb at a lower price. Or is anything else broken?

My friend repaired his LC, and is now happy. He guards his LC like a Doberman now, pretty amusing.
