Okay, I have never heard the name said by anyone who knew anything about them. How is "Luxeon" properly pronounced?

Official? I have no idea...

I say it /lux/ (as in luxury) and /e/ (as in the last syllable of money) and on (last syllable of done, not the word on). And the emphasis on the first syllable.

The guy at The Sharper Image said /lux e ON/. Emphasis on the last syllable and pronounced like the word on, not the last syllable of done.

I say it "LUCKS-e-on", with a long "e" as in "eel" and the traditional pronunciation of "on".

Actually, I've never spoken the word out loud.

Same here since there are never any other people to discuss Luxeons with. But when I read this thread, I simply wondered how I would pronounce it if I said it out loud and I said it several times before I ended up with Lug-zee-on. on as in done.

It's probably supposed to be Lux-eeee-on, but I'm lazy and say it Lux-(iu)n, where (iu) is half way between uuuuu (long u like under), and iiiiii (long i, like in).

Now you guys have to me muttering it under my breath at work...as if people here didn't look at me wierd enough already...
