Today was the first time I had actually USED my MaxaBeam and it was cold and snowing very hard.

After coming inside and inspecting the light, i notice that when i fired the bulb i see a 'steam' on the inside of the bulb as if a temperature chance has taken place to cause that.

Is this normal or have i done something by using the light outside in the cold (20 Degress F)

Thanks

this is normal and I belive it's caused by instability in the arc it's self, Or air ciculation around the arc tube, the hotter air causes the light to refract in the heated air and the optics just magnify it. even at room temp it will do that to some degree

I would think not, mine works just fine, even after staring into it looking at the pattrens dance on the inside of the reflector, not good for eye sight though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/huh.gif
