SF U2 + Pila 168a???

I saw on Seans site that you can use the Pila's 168a rechargable battery's in the SF U2. Is this true and if so does the Pila battery fit without any modifications? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

That is correct. I'm using the 168A with no problems and love it. There has been some discussion both here and the reviews forum that might be of interest concerning runtime and such. Otherwise, just drop it in and go! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinser2.gif

The main problem seems to be that level 6 runs only short time in regulation with 168As, if at all, due to the lower voltage compared to 2x CR123. Check out this thread. For up to level 5, 168A and U2 seems to be a good combination (never tried it myself).

vf of your particular luxeon probably decides if your U2 will run at level 6.

mine runs fine on level 6 with pila.

Hello MLong,

Like Cy, mine works well on level 6 with a 168a as well.

I believe the light is a bit dimmer on level 6 with Pila's, but not so much as to notice. A light meter will pick up the difference, but it is difficult for your eyes to see.
