Right now I have a Universal Weller 140/100 watt Dual Powered Iron. Would this be too much heat to apply to the cells? Unfortunatley Weller does not make a chisel tip for this particular Iron.

That will work, but be careful to NOT leave that hot tip on too long.

The nice thing about those high power irons is that you can heat stuff up FAST in just a small spot.

Good Luck!!

If that is a trigger pistol grip iron you could probably take a piece of large diameter 12-10guage housewire, strip the insulation off of it and wrap it around the tip of the iron to make a better temporary tip to solder with. After you are done just cut it off and toss it.
