I've had my QIII for a month now and I've been quite happy with it. Tonight though it shut down while I was trying to navigating pitch dark. No dim, flicker or warning, thank goodnes I kept a spare cell in my pocket. Is this a normal thing with the QIII?

Mine did that last night as well. No warning at all, I've popped in a Batterystation battery now so I hope it'll do better /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Chiphead & Robban, try putting in a used 123 of a different brand (non Panasonic) and the Q3 should light up into moon mode, unless of course the battery is very very low on juice... The Panasonics seem to have a higher resistance built in or something...

My Q3 went into a prolonged moon mode with the original Panasonic battery, but I had already upgraded the light with a TWOJ star (from an SYAL in there originally). The Q3 was still putting out more light than my Infinity Ultra G when I pulled the cell out and measured the no-load voltage: 1.28 volts.
