surefire e1e lube on threads?

I changed the battery on my e1e and cleaned all the grease off the threads, im going to lube it up with silicone grease;i was just wondering if you guys use a little or alot of grease on the threads and o ring..thanks

If you are not using Nye 759G then I would only lube the O-ring with a very thin coat. The lube Surefire puts on the threads is designed to improve conductivity between metal parts. Most lubes are fine for O-rings but if you put them on the treads it will migrate into the tail cap and cause resistance.

I agree with jtivat. Be very careful what you put on the threads. Automotive stores sell stuff called dialectic grease and it is designed NOT to pass current, yet this is purchased daily by people that use it incorrectly.

WD40 is the same thing. God help you if you get it on your battery connections. Its a great insulator and can cause all sorts of electrical problems.
