I have a 3D Mag with an EverLED as a backup light at home. It is fairly rarely used, and every now and then I take it outside in freezing conditions. Altoghether, this means that the alkalines in the light are not really doing too well.

Lithium sulphur dioxide D-cells (such as Saft LO26SX) are rated at, or slightly below, 3,0V. Has anyone tried running a 3D Mag w/ EverLED using three LiSO2 D-cells? I would expect excellent run times and good below freezing performance; that is, unless the EverLED is fried...

The EverLED is rated to 9V Vin.

My understanding of SAFT cells is they're nominal 3.6V, so I don't think that 3 would be recommended for the EverLED.

The 3,6 V are not Li-SO2 cells, they are a different lithium chemistry (Li-SOCl2). Lithiums also come in at least a third chemistry, Li-MnO2, which is slightly above 3 V.
