Is there an easy way to take apart a U2 Tailcap?

I had one of the bad tailcaps and surfire sent me a new one, works great. The HA is a terrible mismatch though and I want to swap out the switch part with my old tailcap, is there an easy way to do this??

1) Apply heat to U2 tailcap:
-wrap tailcap in cling wrap
-boil water and dip cling-wrapped tailcap in boiling water for about 2 minutes
-use thick rubber material to protect finish of tailcap while turning very small bezel holding switch assembly in place with a pair of Vise-grips.

Caution: Ensure rubber material protecting finish is thick enough or Vise-grips may ruin finish.

I used the above method to open up my U2's tailcap.
